Intel Xeon
Xeon processor versus Intel processor of the same spec, what’s the difference?
I know Xeon is usually in servers and workstations, but what sets it apart from the regular Intel product of the same specification (apart from being able to buy a motherboard that supports two of them?)
EDIT: My 3-year old Core 2 Duo is running 64-bit.
I dont know if Adidas had too much herbal tea but… nearly if not ALL modern processors are 64 bits now. Xeon (Intel) and Opteron (AMD) are – officially – top not top of the line processors made for intensive applications and supporting demanding servers so the difference is in realiability and perfromance but to be fair there is not that much difference these days between a Xeon and a Dual Core or Quadricore Intel….
